The Genius in 40 Year Old Virgin

Judd Apatow is a genius.

He mixes sophmoric potty-mouth humor with intelligent themes and outstanding metaphors.

Steve Carell shines as Andy, a 40 year old virgin who works at Smart Tech.  Andy is surrounded by horny co-workers who make it their goal to have Andy lose his virginity.  Andy being an innocent person is exposed to their debauchery filled world and tries to embrace it.

However, he fails horribly at their attempts to try to hook him up with a girl.

If someone were to stop the movie here, they would believe that this is a chauvinistic film that encourages men to look for drunken women for an easy lay.

As the movie progresses, Andy finds a nice woman and starts casually dating her.  Sex is put to the side, as they both fall for each other in the process.

This is the message the movie is trying to give out, sex isn't the only crucial factor for a nice healthy satisfying relationship.  Apatow does a great job in putting out a good message but its hidden underneath all the hilarious antics.
