Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

One of the best plays I've ever read.  The characters are beyond intriguing.  The dialogue alone reveals more than any written background story would tell. The mannerisms and characteristics of each character shines through the spoken word.

Several taboo subjects are addressed in this play: The "love" between Brick and his deceased best-friend, the lack of "love" between Brick and Maggie.

Brick and Skipper- Were best friends and former teammates.  They would spend a lot of time together, so much time that Maggie and others became suspicious of the true natue of their relationship.  It brings up the question of: can a man be really close friends with another man and just have it be a friendship and nothing to deal with homosexuality?

Brick and Maggie- Brings up the question of what happens when the flame burns out? He's an alcoholic who doesn't seem to be so attracted to Maggie who is hitting her sexual peak.

I recommend to anyone who hasn't read the book/play or even watch the movie, to do so ASAP!
